The city came to life in an area of Savannah domain, where the vegetation, for the greater part of the year, assumes a golden hue and of its footpaths, immortalized by Guimaraes Rosa, in which the buritizais (palm trees) unfold with their leaves in form of palms and seem to be thanking the Heavens for their standing as the protector of the crystalline water springs that sprout from the soil so as to sustain life itself. The yellow and brown red of the sunset can only be compared with the deep dark blue of the sky on its starry nights.
